The attacker has scored five strikes in 10 La Liga matches so far this term.

Los Merengues forward Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to the fanbase for his reaction when replaced in Sunday's fiery El Clasico victory.

Vinicius was substituted in the 72nd minute and expressed his annoyance by walking immediately to the dressing room.

He later returned to the sidelines and, following his side's 2-1 victory, sought to engage the opposition's opposing player during unsavoury after the game scenes.

"This day I want to express regret to all the Madridistas for my behavior when I was taken off in the Clasico," he shared on social media.

"Similarly to I have previously expressed during today's practice, I also want to express regret anew to my team-mates, the club, and the club president.

"Sometimes emotion takes over me because I continuously aim to win and assist my side. My winning mentality stems from the passion I hold for this club and everything it represents."

Vinicius moved to the Spanish capital from Brazil in recent years for a significant fee and has notched triple figures in more than 300 games.

But his career in the Madrid is uncertain with reports in the past few months indicating that Los Blancos would consider allowing the player depart if they got a suitable offer.

When Vinicius was taken off on Sunday, cameras from broadcaster the platform captured him stating: "Again me! I'm departing the side! It's preferable if I leave, I'm going."

In his latest post on X, the athlete stated: "I commit to keep battling constantly for the good of Real Madrid, as I have performed since the first day."
