I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
