Football Recap: Broncos Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

In a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz kicked the late go-ahead field goal to secure the hard-fought win.

Defensive Display Seals Contest

Even with registering nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a safety in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed just 82 offensive yards during the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's short field goal with approximately five minutes remaining.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Offense

In spite of their horrendous performance, the Jets still had the ball with a opportunity to drive for a potential winning score. However Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it rather than calling on kicker Nick Folk for a long kick.

Fields had difficulties throughout, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the fewest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," the coach commented after the game.
